| Goals | The fundamental design principles to be used in the design process are taught; basic design principles are demonstrated with the aim of enhancing creative ability, and the necessary skills are imparted to enable the application of these principles in practice. |
| Course Content | The course covers design principles and elements, visual communication and perception in the visual arts, figure-ground relationships, space, form and geometry, the concept of space in architecture, design elements (line, direction, scale, texture, shape, colour, value) and design principles (harmony, contrast, rhythm, unity, dominance, balance); the processes of perception and comprehension in two- and three-dimensional compositions are examined. |
