| Goals | The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and practical experience in teaching and learning basic movement skills including locomotor, balance, object control, and combined movements by applying movement concepts and principles such as body awareness, spatial awareness, effort, and movement relationships. |
| Course Content | This course focuses on the theoretical foundations and practical applications of movement education. It covers fundamental movement skills including locomotor movements, balance skills, object control skills, and combined movement patterns. The course also introduces essential movement concepts such as body awareness, spatial awareness, effort, and movement relationships. Students explore how these movement concepts support the development of motor skills and physical literacy in early and school-age children. Emphasis is placed on the design and implementation of developmentally appropriate movement activities that enhance coordination, balance, flexibility, and motor competence. Additionally, the course examines instructional strategies, teaching methods, and activity planning in movement education settings. Students gain experience in organizing safe, engaging, and inclusive movement learning environments while applying principles of motor development and pedagogy. Practical applications allow students to integrate theoretical knowledge with teaching practice. |
