Goals To teach the general characteristics of the language. To teach the historical development of Türkiye Turkish. To teach the phonetic characteristics of Turkey Turkish.
Course Content This course provides a fundamental introduction to philology, starting with the definition and types of language, as well as the classification of world languages. It explores the distinctions between grammar and linguistics, focusing on the processes of transcribing language (transcription, transliteration) and the phonetics of the Turkish language. The core of the curriculum covers the formation and classification of vowels and consonants, sound harmonies, and various phonological processes (elision, epenthesis, assimilation, etc.) through both theoretical frameworks and practical applications.

9 Applies the acquired knowledge and skills in Turkish language and literature to interdisciplinary projects within the broader field of social sciences.
