Course Content This course comprehensively examines the period from the beginnings of Turkish literature to the first works influenced by Islam. Starting with the pre-Islamic oral and written traditions, the content focuses on the four foundational works of Karakhanid Turkish literature (Kutadgu Bilig, Dîvânü Lügati’t-Türk, Atebetü’l-Hakâyık, Dîvân-ı Hikmet) and the initial manifestations of Sufi thought in literature.
