Goals The student will synthesize the basic knowledge of the architectural draftsmanship education he/she has received up to this course before moving on to the advanced projects phase and will create a small-scale building project focused on construction and application.
Course Content Standards for architectural construction drawings and legend creation; detailed drafting of 1/50 scale floor plans (foundation, ground, and typical floors); structural system (axis) layout and column application plans; preparation of room schedules and integration of interior finishing details into the plan; design of vertical circulation elements (stairs and elevators) according to construction regulations; drafting at least two system sections (longitudinal and transverse) through the building; drawing facade elevations with material textures and leveling standards; foundation plans, roof plans, and drainage details; preparation of door and window joinery details (system and point details); sheet layout and preparation processes for large-format printing
