Goals The objective of this course is to describe basic principles of factory layout, factory design process, models and techniques of factory location selection, factory planning and to present related applications.
Course Content Fundamental concepts in planning of factory and production. Production, production types and production factors, production and manufacturing systems, classification of production systems. Reasons of factory planning, basic terminology, structural organization of factories. Physical planning, goal of physical planning, selection of factory place, the factors effecting in the selection of the factory location. The selection methods of factory location. Factory layout, goal of factory layout. Reasons of factory layout, problems in incorrect edited factories.The types of factory layout (process oriented, layout product oriented layout). The determination of machine numbers, balancing of machinery and work load, raw material planning. Material Requirements Planning (MRP). Production technology (selection of technology, production of technology, transfer of technology), Samples of Production technology. Machine and equipment (selection of machine and equipment, classification of machine and equipment, analysis of maintenance methods. Capacity planning.
