| Goals | The aim of this course is to provide students with a historical perspective to analyze the political, social, and cultural transformations in the Caucasus and Turkestan from the late 18th to the early 20th century. It seeks to enable students to critically assess the local responses to Russian expansion and the evolving regional dynamics of the era. |
| Course Content | Students; 1) Will be able to define the geographical location and geopolitics of the Caucasus. 2) Learns the ethnic structure and historical development of the Caucasus. 3) Have information about the Caucasus politics of the Ottoman Empire. 4) Understands the causes of ethnic and regional conflicts in the Caucasus. 5) Knows about Russia's and Iran's Caucasus policies. |
