Goals English II, as a sequence to English 1, aims to build on student’s knowledge and skills they’ve learnt in English 1. Students will be able to read very short, simple texts, find specific, predictable information in simple everyday material such as advertisements, prospectuses, menus and timetables, and understand short, simple reading texts as required CEFR A2 level. They will also be able to use new vocabulary in personalized contexts and write different kinds of texts from a formal email to a social networking post.
Course Content In this course, students gain the abilities to understand and apply familiar and common expressions and basic sentences for the satisfaction of basic needs; to introduce oneself to others and to ask and reply to questions on personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she possesses; to respond in a simple manner, provided the other party speaks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
