Goals To equip students with an understanding of health insurance concepts, types, operations, and the legal and economic dimensions of health insurance. Additionally, this course aims to develop students' abilities to analyze the impact of insurance systems on healthcare financing and health policies.
Course Content Starting from the basic principles of health insurance, this course examines different types of health insurance, its role in healthcare financing, and health insurance models across various countries. Additionally, it covers the legal aspects, ethical issues, and practical financial analysis topics such as risk management in health insurance. Students will evaluate the impact of health insurance on health policies, discuss its socioeconomic and political dimensions, and develop knowledge and skills to propose solutions for current issues. The course covers topics such as health insurance, social security, healthcare systems, health financing mechanisms, types of insurance, historical development of insurance, the legal framework and ethics in insurance, insurance premium calculations, reimbursement methods in insurance, and the impact of health insurance on financing and policy.
