Goals This course provides students with the opportunity to examine and compare various health systems globally. Students gain insights into organizational structures, financing models, health policies, and health outcomes across countries. The course enables them to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of different health systems.
Course Content Introduction: Definition, components, and core concepts of health systems Health Systems Organization: Organizational structures of health services in various countries Financing Models: Health service financing, private and public sources, insurance systems Health Policies and Reforms: Development of health policies and reform examples across countries Access and Equity in Health Services: Analysis of access and equity in different health systems Health Outcomes and Performance Metrics: Evaluation of health systems' effectiveness, efficiency, and quality WHO and Other Global Health Organizations: Their impact and roles on health systems Country Case Comparisons: In-depth analysis and comparison of health systems in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Sweden, Japan, and others Technology and Digitalization in Health: The role and impact of digitalization in health systems
