| Goals | In this course, based on the overall learning objective, students are expected to achieve the following target behaviors by the end of instruction: 1. Explain the basic concepts related to intellectual disability. 2. Define intellectual disability. 3. Explain the key individuals, events, and phenomena that have influenced developments in the education of individuals with intellectual disabilities, in terms of their impact on educational practices. 4. Identify the causes of intellectual disability. 5. Describe the characteristics of individuals with intellectual disabilities. 6. Describe the diagnostic criteria and assessment process for intellectual disability. 7. Explain the education of individuals with intellectual disabilities. 8. Explain supportive special education practices for individuals with intellectual disabilities. 9. Explain the teaching processes for individuals with intellectual disabilities. 10. Explain the importance of family participation and cooperation for individuals with intellectual disabilities. |
