Goals Its aim is to provide academic competence to scientifically evaluate the contribution of poetry to children’s language, emotional, and cognitive development by examining poems written for children from historical, aesthetic, and educational perspectives.
Course Content The course examines the historical development of poetry written for children, along with its genres, formal features, and literary elements such as language, rhythm, and imagery, while exploring the impact of poetry on children’s cognitive, emotional, and social development through theoretical and applied approaches. In addition, students analyze selected examples of quality children’s poetry and develop research and evaluation skills related to the field.
