Goals General features of the Turkish literature between the Servet-i Fünûn and National literature eras; the period, figures and works; characteristics of the period; comparative investigation of the literary works as regards to language and style.
Course Content Students accomplished this course will learn the modernity attempts in Turkish literatute starting after Tanzimat era and learn the new sample works in literature and the literary works following the sample ones.

3. Week Şinasi, his poetry and drama and their influence on Turkish Literature.
4. Week Namık Kemal, his literary Works, Hürriyet Kasidesi, his novel İntibah, literary and other ideas of Namık Kemal, their influence on Turkish political and cultural life.
5. Week Ziya Paşa, his poetry, his Terkib-i Bend, his literary personality. Ahmet Mithat Efendi and his Works.
6. Week Secont generational Tanzimat era, Recaizade M. Ekrem, his Araba Sevdası novel.
7. Week Mid generation
8. Week Sami Paşazade Sezai and his Sergüzeşt novel. Abdülhak Hamit Tarhan; his Makber poem.
9. Week Midterm exam
10. Week Servet-i Fünûn literature, completion.
11. Week Tevfik Fikret, his poems, ideas and effects.
