Goals The aim of this course is to provide students with a perception how the Turkish culture developed and represented in daily life.
Course Content The subfields of culture such as language, religion, architecture, etc. and their historical development are analyzed connected to daily life.

2 Reaches conviction about the concepts of civilization and culture.
3 Explains the importance of change and transformation between civilizations through the transportation and communication by the Silk Road.
4 Evaluates the structure of daily life, art, literature, science and technique in Turks.
5 Recognizes the institutions shaping the order of Ottoman Government like Kadılık, Enderun School and Divan-ı Hümayun.
6 Describes the status of Kalemiye, Seyfiye, bureaucratic classes named Ulema and loyal subjects reflecting the vast majority of society in the Ottoman Empire.
7 Criticizes the changes and transformations in the history of the Republic of Turkey.
8 Explains the terms such as revolution, reform, republic, monarchy, constitution.
9 Describes the characteristics and attributions of Atatürk's Principles and Revolutions.
10 Evaluates the success of Turks in areas like religion, arts, literature, science and techniques.
11 Evaluates the quality of the social and cultural similarities and differences.
