| Goals | To learn essansial concepts such special education services, characteristics of children with special needs and education. To have knowledge about differents handicapped groups and their reasons. To develop positive attitude about handicapped people. To learn necessary adaptations according to characteristics of disabled children. |
| Course Content | Basic concepts of special education, principles of special education, historical development of special education, legal arrangements for special education and individuals with special needs, diagnosis and evaluation process in special education, individualization of education, mainstreaming and support special education services, participation to education and family cooperation, the characteristics of different disability groups and gifted students and the educational approaches and teaching strategies for these groups. |
