| Goals | Objectives of the Course To be able to recognize the types of materials used in the industrial field, to comprehend their basic properties, to gain the ability to choose the most suitable materials for design |
| Course Content | -Classify materials (metallic materials, ceramic materials, organic materials) -Recognizes Steels, Cast Irons and microstructures of these materials, and can make metallographic examinations -Knows the methods of applying heat treatment. It can apply quenching heat treatment to steel and cast iron. -Interprets alloyed unalloyed steel, Cast Iron and its standards, knows the effects of alloying elements on the material. -Sees and interprets the accuracy of theoretical information by doing laboratory studies and experiments. |
