Goals The aim of this course is to introduce the concepts of combustion and fire, to present the classes of fire, to provide information about extinguishing techniques and the materials and equipment used, to evaluate the fire and explosion hazards that may occur in different industrial fields, to teach safety measures related to flammable and explosive materials, and to develop basic knowledge and skills regarding fire fighting methods in emergency situations. In addition, the course aims to enable students to develop preventive strategies against fire risks within the framework of occupational health and safety.
Course Content 1-Explains the concepts of combustion and fire, and evaluates fire classes and extinguishing techniques. 2-Explains the properties and usage areas of fire extinguishing substances and materials. 3-Explains the functioning and importance of fire detection and alarm systems. 4-Analyzes fire and explosion hazards that may occur in mining, building, construction, and electrical systems. 5-Evaluates the risks posed by flammable and explosive substances and gases. 6-Explains the necessary precautions for the safe storage and use of flammable, explosive, and combustible substances. 7-Applies intervention methods for fire and explosion incidents in emergency situations. 8-Develops fire fighting strategies within the framework of occupational health and safety.
