Goals This course aims to teach the technological properties and application methods of protective coatings used in surface treatments.
Course Content • Management of finishing workshop in small and large scale manufacturing systems. • Fundamental of occurring protector layer. • Oiled protectors that creating protector layer, varnishes (cellulose, synthetic, acid catalysis, polyurethane, polyester, acrylic) techniques and applying properties. • Varnishing techniques. • Establishment and organization of top surface workshops • To teach of wood finishing process and their application techniques on to wooden furniture and decoration elements. • Put in use knowledge/skill acquired during the course in work environment effectively.
Learning Outcomes
# Öğrenme Kazanımı
1 • Works in the field, knowing the need to protect wooden furniture used in interior design and that paint and varnish enhance the aesthetics of furniture
2 • Gains knowledge about installation work, knowing the required characteristics of top surface workshops
3 • They make it a principle to take protective measures, knowing the level of danger of the chemicals used in surface finishing workshops
4 • They know and apply the preparation of surfaces for painting, within technological rules.
5 • Works with knowledge of paint and varnish types, considering the location of use, color, and characteristics.
6 • • Recognizes the requirements for wood preservation and the protective coating materials used. Selects the location of use according to varnish types and characteristics
7 • Knows the properties of varnish layers and testing methods. Learns the application techniques for top surface materials
8 • Students who have gained knowledge and skills about the establishment phase and characteristics of Top Surface workshops are expected to always apply these behaviors.
9 • Possesses the competence to effectively use the knowledge and skills acquired in the course in the work environment
