Goals In this course, it is expected from students to have knowledge on basics of computer networking, including LAN and WAN technologies, digital communication techniques, IP principles, network architecture and protocols, basic network applications, basics of network planning, management and security
Course Content LAN and WAN network architectures, management and configuration of network devices. The concept of routing, routing tables, Static routing, Dynamic routing, Basic routing protocols (e.g., RIP, OSPF), the concept and use of VLANs, types of VLANs, creating VLANs and port assignment, the working principle of DHCP, configuring a DHCP server on a router or switch, the concept of NAT, Static NAT, Dynamic NAT, WAN architecture, LAN and WAN network design.
