Goals The aim of this course is to understand the phenomenon of the European Union and the social, economic, and cultural factors that have influenced its emergence. The course objectives include examining the historical developments leading to the formation of the Union, comprehending the EU's common acquis, understanding the EU institutions, and their functioning. Additionally, students taking this course are expected to gain knowledge about the EU's common social policies and health practices, as well as identifying the similarities and differences between these and the health policies implemented in Turkey.
Course Content This course examines the healthcare practices within the framework of the European Union's historical development, institutional structure, and common policies. It explores the EU's social policies and healthcare systems, comparing them with Turkey's health policies. The course focuses on the impact of EU legislation on the healthcare sector, the harmonization and differences in health policies among member states, and Turkey's position in the adaptation process. The aim is to equip students with the ability to analyze EU and Turkish health policies and evaluate current developments in this field.
