| Goals | Fundamental concepts related to finance, financial management functions, time value of money, financial statements and analysis of these tables, financial planning, working capital management issues to create a theoretical infrastructure and to provide the development of analytical thinking. |
| Course Content | This course covers the fundamental principles of financial management and corporate financial decision-making processes; it examines the objective of financial management, the role of the financial manager, and the goal of firm value maximization while analyzing financial statements, cash flow structures, and financial performance indicators; within the framework of the time value of money, simple and compound interest calculations, discounting techniques, and present value approaches are introduced; the relationship between risk and return is analyzed at an introductory level; capital budgeting techniques including Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Payback Period, and Profitability Index are evaluated in the context of investment decisions; furthermore, the fundamentals of financing decisions, debt and equity financing, cost of capital, and weighted average cost of capital are discussed; the course also introduces working capital management, cash management, and liquidity concepts with the objective of enabling students to apply basic financial management techniques within an analytical framework. |
