Goals The aim of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of law and the functioning of the legal system. The course seeks to provide students with a basic understanding of legal rules, the role of law in social order, and the main sources of law. It also aims to develop students’ awareness of legal rights and responsibilities and enable them to evaluate basic legal issues encountered in daily life.
Course Content This course covers the fundamental concepts of law and examines the role of law in maintaining social order. The course focuses on the characteristics of legal rules and their relationship with other social rules such as moral, religious, and customary rules. It also includes the sources of law, legal systems, branches of law, the concept of rights, types of rights, and the exercise and protection of rights. In addition, the principle of the rule of law and the importance of law in social life are discussed.
