Goals The aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive overview of research methods and their applications in various fields. By examining both qualitative and quantitative approaches, students will acquire the skills necessary to effectively design, conduct, and analyze research.
Course Content This course will cover the nature of scientific research, research ethics, formulating research questions, research designs, methods of obtaining information, sampling methods, and writing research reports.
Learning Outcomes
# Öğrenme Kazanımı
1 Explains the fundamental stages of the scientific research process, including formulating the research problem, identifying variables, developing hypotheses, and conducting a literature review.
2 Compares quantitative and qualitative research designs (quasi-experimental design, survey, oral history, group interview, etc.) and data collection methods; selects the appropriate design and method for a specific research problem with justification.
3 Conducts the data collection process using tools such as attitude scales by determining the appropriate sampling method.
4 Identifies ethical issues that may arise during the data collection process and critically evaluates the ethical appropriateness of a research design.
5 Processes the collected data and presents it, writing a research report covering the entire research process.
