Goals To understand the art of Classical period ceramics.
Course Content Course description and content of the research on Attic vases. Black-figure and red-figure pottery technique the general characteristics of Introduction to red-figure technique Chronology of Attic red figure vases (painters, styles, schools) Red-figure vases, early styles (Bilingual vases, early painters) Pioneer group painters: Euphronios, Euthymides Kleophrades and Berlin Artists Douris and the painters Brygos Mature Classical period style features and painters (the workshop of Myson, Pan painter) Achilles painter and his followers Niobe school and his followers Rich in style and Meidias painter
