Goals This course aims to teach the basic institutions, concepts and theories of constitutional law.
Course Content The concept of the Constitution, its definition, characteristics and constitutional movements, constitutional documents, making and changing the Constitution, the concept of the State, its elements, the rule of law and the principles of equality, human rights, fundamental rights and freedoms and their limitations, the legislative power, its function, authority, procedures, working order, the status of the legislative body, its election, the duties and authorities of the legislative body, the executive power - the President, executive regulatory procedures and the state of emergency, the judicial power, the constitutional judiciary will be covered.
Learning Outcomes
# Öğrenme Kazanımı
1 Students are introduced to the concept of constitution, constitutionalism movements, constituent power, and the judicial review of the constitutionality of laws. The course also covers the elements of the state, forms of state, the theory of separation of powers, systems of government, types of democracy, electoral systems, and fundamental rights and freedoms.
2 At the end of the course, students will develop an awareness of the functioning of the constitutional order, the rights they possess as individuals, and the operation of political power and the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
3 Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: Explain the basic concepts of constitutional law, such as the state, democracy, systems of government, constituent power, elections, and fundamental rights and freedoms. Develop awareness of constitutional rights and the importance of protecting them. Understand the functions and supremacy of the constitution in the legal order. Analyze and evaluate decisions rendered within the framework of constitutional adjudication.
