Goals To recognize the aging process, to apply the principles of the care to the elderly by gaining the theoretical information about problems arising from aging and the solution of these problems, to apply the care of chronic diseases in old age, preparing and implementing daily care plan on elderly care, to know medication practices and follow-up , grasping of special care practices and recognize for the necessary states, recognizing institutions related to elderly care and interpreting the working conditions, to use the necessary registration procedures related to maintenance practices.
Course Content Preparation of professional practice plan for organizations providing elder health care, preparation tools, preparation of educational environment, event planning is given. Urinary tract diseases and maintenance of applications, genital tract diseases and maintenance practices, urinary incontinence and care, fecal incontinence and care, the education about aged care homes, hospital units and their application areas , students’ seminar presentations.
