Goals To provide students with knowledge and skills on wound healing, basic principles of wound care, assessment methods, and current approaches in wound management.
Course Content Definition of wound, wound healing process and basic principles, wound assessment, types of dressings and bandages, prevention and management of pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, venous ulcers, care of patients with stoma, wound infections and management, technological materials in wound care, current treatment methods (ozone, maggot, honey, hyperbaric oxygen, vacuum-assisted closure, laser and electrical therapies), patient education, and multidisciplinary approach.
