Goals Recognizing society and family structures in Turkey. Knowing family cycle, broken families, attitudes and behavior concepts. Reviewing the developmental characteristics of child and assimilating it. Knowing the requirements of healthy child rearing. Assessing the examples of negative attitudes in different cases. Evaluating the the results of child abuse and neglect. Analyzing communication skills and relationships within the family. Assessing the educational and guidance services in Turkey. Examining national and international family studies. Comprehending the role of teacher and other professionals that give guidance to families
Course Content Basic concepts related family and family education, family education and family characteristics from past to present, theories of parenting and researches about parenting, legal and ethical rules regarding parental rights in family education, early education and supporting programs, effcetive family-school-society relationship, planning, implementing and assessing parent education programs, parent involvement in early childhood education, family studies in special cases, studies conducted with special need children's families, Family Support Program Integrated with National Preschool Education Program (OBADER)
