| Goals | To teach the basic principles and concepts of agricultural ecology and the factors affecting plant production. |
| Course Content | Ecology and agro-ecology encompass the definition of natural ecosystems (producers, consumers, and decomposers), their principles (energy flow, matter cycle), productivity, the differences between natural and agro-ecosystems, agricultural production systems, and the energetic (light, temperature, gravity) and material (carbon dioxide, water, plant nutrients, salinity, acidity) environmental factors affecting primary crop production, as well as the impact of these factors on crop production. |
