Goals The aim of this course is to reveal the relationship between cinema, media and politics from the date of emergence of media and cinema to the present day.
Course Content In this course, where the boundaries of the relationship between cinema, media and politics will be explained, the concepts of cinema and politics, popular culture and world politics, political films and world politics, poverty, war, race, the Cold War, gender, and propaganda issues will be examined in terms of how they appear in cinema, television, press and advertising texts.

1 It relates the problems and important issues experienced in the world to movies. It shapes the relationship between culture and politics. It relates different perspectives to the events that happened.
2 Can evaluate the relationship between cinema and politics. Can evaluate political life through cinema. Can interpret the relationships between ideology, power and knowledge. Can analyze how there is a relationship between the economy-politics of power and media.
3 Relates and analyzes democracy and public sphere debates with the media. Lists the problems related to the representation of ethnic minorities in the media. Critically interprets the positioning of gender in the media.
4 Comments on the transformation in media with the development of communication technologies. Comments on the way wars are covered in the media today.
