Goals The aim of this course is to examine the relationship between the individual's development process and religious education and to understand the effects of different developmental stages on religious learning and religious development. Within the scope of the course, the relationship between the basic theories of developmental psychology and religious education is addressed, and the reflections of the individual's cognitive, affective, and social development characteristics on the religious education process are evaluated.
Course Content This course examines the fundamental concepts and theories of developmental psychology, exploring the individual's lifelong development process. The course evaluates the characteristics of religious development and religious education during childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age; it analyzes the relationship between cognitive, moral, and emotional development and religious learning. In addition, theories of religious development, individual differences, the influence of family and environment on religious education, and religious education approaches appropriate to developmental stages are addressed.
