| Goals | The objective of this course is to provide students with an analytical understanding of the fundamental problems, concepts, and theories of moral philosophy (ethics). It aims to enable students to evaluate moral dilemmas on a rational basis by examining current debates in normative ethics, meta-ethics, and applied ethics. |
| Course Content | This course covers the outlines of moral philosophy. Within the context of meta-ethics, the meaning of moral concepts, moral realism, and relativism are examined; within normative ethics, virtue ethics, deontological ethics, and utilitarianism are analyzed. Furthermore, free will, the problem of evil, moral responsibility, and contemporary applied ethics issues (bioethics, environmental ethics, technology ethics) are discussed through classical and contemporary texts |
