Goals The objective of this course is to provide students with an analytical understanding of the fundamental problems, concepts, and theories of moral philosophy (ethics). It aims to enable students to evaluate moral dilemmas on a rational basis by examining current debates in normative ethics, meta-ethics, and applied ethics.
Course Content This course covers the outlines of moral philosophy. Within the context of meta-ethics, the meaning of moral concepts, moral realism, and relativism are examined; within normative ethics, virtue ethics, deontological ethics, and utilitarianism are analyzed. Furthermore, free will, the problem of evil, moral responsibility, and contemporary applied ethics issues (bioethics, environmental ethics, technology ethics) are discussed through classical and contemporary texts

1 Explains the main fields of moral philosophy (meta-ethics, normative ethics, applied ethics) and its conceptual framework.
2 Analyzes primary normative ethical theories such as virtue ethics, deontology, and utilitarianism
3 Evaluates the philosophical relationships among free will, determinism, and moral responsibility.
4 (Discusses the problem of the source of morality within the context of moral relativism, realism, and divine command theory.
5 Interprets contemporary applied ethics problems such as bioethics, environmental ethics, and technology ethics from a rational and critical perspective.
