Goals The student will analyze the formation of the basic concepts of the Islamic Thought tradition, their transfer from Greek Philosophy and their transformations.

2 Analyzes epistemological and psychological concepts such as intellect and soul in Islamic philosophy.
3 Explains the historical development of philosophical terminology and its semantic relationship with Ancient Greek philosophy.
4 Interprets the foundational concepts found in classical Islamic philosophy texts within the correct context.
5 Critically compares basic philosophical concepts with the conceptual frameworks in theology and Sufism disciplines
