Goals To examine the problem of the relationship between religion and science, tracing its trajectory from the beginning of the history of philosophy to the present day within the framework of major approaches.

Learning Outcomes

1 Grasps the fundamental models (conflict, independence, dialogue, integration) examining the relationship between religion and science and analyzes methodological issues.
2 Explains the historical trajectory of the religion-science relationship from Antiquity to the present, identifying key turning points (Renaissance, Reformation, etc.) and continuities.
3 Critically evaluates the claims of movements such as positivism, psychologism, sociologism, and pragmatism regarding the relationship between religion and science.
4 Discusses the implications of scientific data in fields such as Darwinian evolutionary theory, modern physics, and cosmology for religious thought.
5 Reflects on the possibility of a religion-science reconciliation within the framework of new opportunities offered by process philosophy and modern philosophy of science.
