Goals The objective of the course is to make students familiar with the historical processes of Ancient Greek, Roman and Medieval Theatre.
Course Content The course is presented as a general survey of all phases of the theatre art from its origins through the Medieval Theatre. The course includes the study of theatre architecture, design concepts, dramatic forms, acting styles, playwrigths as well as social, cultural and intellectual structure. Also, includes the discussion of theatre traditions of non-Western cultures.

10 Following the contemporary developments in the field of performing arts in Turkey and abroad, has the knowledge concerning national and international values.
11 Improves his/her skills in critical and creative thinking, as well as expressing his/her thoughts in oral, embodied and written forms.
12 Has the knowledge of theatre’s connections with other arts (literature, cinema, opera, music, dance, painting, sculpture, etc.), as well as social sciences (philosophy, anthropology, sociology, aesthetics, art history, political sciencee, etc.) and makes research and production in his/her own field by using this interdisciplinary viewpoint.
13 Uses the up-to-date information and communication technologies that are required in the art of drama.
14 Improves the skill of connecting with the social, economical, political and especially cultural heritage of the history of civilisations and spends effort to make these values prevalent within the social environment s/he lives through projects and activities that s/he would prepare.
