Goals | The course aims to familiarize students with the theoretical perspectives necessary to interpret modern and contemporary art. |
Course Content | The course covers the period ranging from early modernism to postmodernism and the contemporary. Topics include modernism, the avant-garde, originality, abstract art, formalism and structuralism, popart, minimalism, conceptual art, postmodernism and deconstruction, environmental art, politics of vision, gender, and the contemporary art. |
