| Goals | The objective of this course is to examine the political, social, economic, and cultural structures of the civilizations that emerged in Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Anatolia from the dawn of human history through a holistic perspective. It aims to enable students to grasp the interactions between these ancient regions and to develop the analytical skills necessary to understand the foundations of modern civilization. |
| Course Content | The core content of this course encompasses the historical development, religious beliefs, legal systems, and artistic legacies of Mesopotamian states such as Sumer, Akkad, Babylon, and Assyria; the Egyptian civilization; and Anatolian civilizations including the Hittites, Urartians, Phrygians, Lydians, and Neo-Hittite City-States, spanning from Prehistory to the Hellenistic Period. |
