Goals To equip students with detailed knowledge of different manufacturing methods and systems.
Course Content Manufacturing and materials, metal casting, methods of shaping and forming metals, machining and other methods, joining methods, powder metallurgy, heat treatments, surface treatment, manufacturing with three-dimensional printers, non-traditional manufacturing methods, automation in manufacturing, manufacturing systems, manufacturing systems and cell design, mass and lean manufacturing

1 To be able to know the traditional manufacturing methods used in the industry
2 Knowing the advantages/disadvantages and usage areas of different manufacturing methods
3 Ability to see non-traditional and emerging manufacturing technologies
4 Ability to design manufacturing systems and manufacturing cells
5 Being able to see the importance of automation in manufacturing
6 Ability to predict the characteristics of manufacturing systems to be used in the future
7 To be able to see the importance of plastic shaping and the prerequisites it requires.
