Goals To give the fundamentals of chemical treatment processes (oxidation-reduction, precipitation, complex formation), to give applications of chemical treatment processes in Environmental Engineering (smoothing, disinfection, taste and smell control etc.)
Course Content 1) Recognize the hardness parameter and the methods of removal in the water and make the calculations of the lime-soda method. recognizes oxidants, makes calculations 5) Describes disinfection, recognizes disinfectants and makes calculations related to chlorination 6) Learns coagulation and flocculation processes, makes project designs 7) Defines chemical precipitation and makes chemical precipitation calculations in water treatment
