Goals To introduce the reaction and reactor types used in treatment systems, to learn the fundamentals of physical and physico-chemical processes used in environmental engineering applications and to gain the ability to use these basic information in the design of water and wastewater treatment plants.
Course Content 1) To be able to write mass balance expressions by knowing the types of reactions and reactors used in Basic Operations and Processes 2) To understand the fundamentals of the basic processes used in water treatment systems and to use these principles for the conceptual design of these units. 3) To understand the fundamentals of the basic processes used in wastewater treatment systems and to use these principles for the conceptual design of these units 4) To understand the fundamentals of some basic operations used in advanced wastewater treatment systems and to use these principles for the conceptual design of these units.
