Goals It is aimed to systematically transmit the formation and changes of cultures to the students in the framework of finds communities determined in the Anatolian Geography during the period from the Paleolithic Age to the beginning of the Neolithic Period.
Course Content Lessons are presented in chronological order including Lower Palaeolithic, Middle Palaeolithic, Upper Palaeolithic, Epipalaeolithic and Neolithic Transition. In the course; The general characteristics and finds communities of each period are introduced firstly. In addition, problems of the periods, evaluation methods and theoretical approaches are also discussed.
Learning Outcomes - To evaluate the Pleistocene climate and culture interaction in Anatolia.
- Chronological Anatolian Prehistory; To understand, compare and evaluate Lower Palaeolithic, Middle Palaeolithic, Upper Palaeolithic, Epipalaeolithic and Neolithic periods holistically.
- To know the materials used in Prehistoric Periods and to have knowledge about their archeological contexts.
- To acquire the ability to make a general assessment of old societies by abstracting from concrete facts.
- To have knowledge about the theoretical framework in prehistoric archeology.
