Goals This course aims to outline the concepts, frameworks and theoretical foundations of society and aesthetic theories coming together in the context of cinema.
Course Content Since 1970s, in the light of developments in other disciplines of social sciences in cinema studies, new fields of inquiry, which are fed with a theoretical transformation and richness, have been opened. In this course, the development of interdisciplinary studies and their basic basis will be discussed and their relations with cinema will be discussed. Subjects such as psychoanalytic approach, ideology and cinema relationship, audience positions, feminist approaches, post-modernist tendencies will be within the scope of the course.
Learning Outcomes - Associates the economic, technological and aesthetic development of the cinema with social theories.
- Comprehends the approaches of interdisciplinary studies that consider cinema as an art and / or mass media.
- Evaluates the psychological, political and economic relationships that occur in cinema through examples.
- Examines the propositions of philosophical and social approaches regarding the production styles, aesthetics and analysis of cinema.
