Goals | The effects of food supplements on athlete health, safety and regulations, benefits and possible side effects of different types of supplements are examined. The aim of the course is to evaluate products such as vitamins, minerals, herbal products in terms of athlete health, as well as ethical approaches that promote the correct use of food supplements. |
Course Content | The benefits and uses of supplements divided into different categories such as vitamins, minerals, herbal supplements, protein and amino acids are discussed in detail. Omega-3 and other fatty acids, probiotic and prebiotic supplements and antioxidants are also examined in the course. Information is provided on supplements for specific target groups, such as supplements for athletes, weight management and metabolism support products and anti-ageing supplements. Potential risks associated with the use of food supplements are evaluated, focusing on their safety, regulation, side effects and possible interactions with other drugs. |
