Goals The course SKY664 - Analysis and Evaluation of Health Systems aims to enable students to deeply analyze the structures, operations, and performances of global and national health systems. This course teaches students to analyze the key components of health systems and their interactions, evaluating the effectiveness, accessibility, and sustainability of healthcare services. The goal is for students to gain an understanding of health policies, financing mechanisms, service delivery, and health outcomes, fostering critical thinking skills in these areas.
Course Content This course will cover the definition and models of health systems, comparative analysis of health systems across different countries, and the financing, management, and organization of healthcare services. Additionally, topics such as quality management in healthcare, equity in health, and the sustainability of health systems will be discussed. Students will analyze the impacts of health policies on health systems and methods for evaluating health system performance. The course will be supported by case studies and current examples to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications
