Goals The objective of this course is to thoroughly examine occupational health and safety in health institutions and to equip students with professional knowledge and skills in this field. It aims to provide students with insights into occupational safety regulations, risk management, workplace accidents, and occupational diseases, while supporting the development of strategic approaches to create a safe working environment in health institutions.
Course Content Definition and historical development of occupational health and safety concepts. Occupational safety regulations and standards in health institutions. Risk assessment methods and their applications. Common workplace accidents and occupational diseases in health institutions. Preventive measures and emergency planning in occupational health and safety. Staff training and the development of a safety culture. Adaptation of occupational safety management systems to the healthcare sector. The impact of ergonomics on occupational health. Psychosocial risk factors and the protection of healthcare workers. The role of technological advancements in occupational health and safety. Safety inspections and reporting in health institutions. National and international practices in occupational health and safety. Ethical and legal responsibilities in health institutions. Future trends and occupational safety policies in health institutions.
