Goals | The student's learning and application of research processes and methods in the fields of philosophy of science and scientific research processes and especially those involving information technologies and those working in the field of information technology. |
Course Content | 1 Definition of science and scientific method, explanation of theories related to philosophy of science such as etymology and ontology, definition of scientific knowledge acquisition processes, definition of concepts such as theory and paradigm, 2 Explanation of the stages of scientific research process, definition of research types 3 Determination of research strategies, definition of research question, determination of variables and hypotheses 4 Sample selection and estimation methods 5 Establishing causality and cause-effect relationships 6 Measurement methods and scales, measurement errors, validity and reliability concepts, 7 Preparing and applying the questionnaire 8 Quantitative data analysis methods 9 Qualitative data analysis methods 10 Distributions, determination of distribution parameters 11 Hypothesis testing, test errors, test effect size 12 Experimental method 13 Ethics in scientific research, preparing bibliography 14 Article review and discussion |
