Goals | "Article Review in Sport Pedagogy" course aims to analyse academic studies in the field of sport pedagogy in depth and gain a critical perspective. It aims to provide students with the ability to evaluate the structure, research methods, findings and discussions of scientific articles and to gain awareness of the academic writing process. In addition, it provides students with the opportunity to recognise current research trends in sport pedagogy and topics that can contribute to this field. |
Course Content | Scientific articles, research topics in the field of sports pedagogy, article reading and analysis techniques, article review and criticism criteria, examination of article sections, publication ethics, applications and course presentation constitute the general content of this course. |
Learning Outcomes |
- Students will be able to comprehend the basic information about the academic writing process by recognising the types and structural features of scientific articles. - Students will be able to read scientific articles critically and analyse the main arguments, findings and conclusions of the author and evaluate the article academically. - Students will have knowledge about the prominent research topics and research methods used in the field of sport pedagogy and will recognise the scientific trends in this field. - Students will be able to evaluate the scientific value of research studies by examining articles in terms of methodological adequacy, validity, reliability and ethical principles. - Students will be able to recognise current research trends in sport pedagogy, identify scientific gaps in this field and make recommendations for future research. |
