Goals "Child and Training" course aims to address theoretically and practically how to train in accordance with the physical development of children and adolescents. The main aim of this course is to provide students with the competence to design safe and effective training programmes in accordance with the biological, physiological and psychological development processes of children. In addition, preventing injuries that can be seen in children and adolescents and raising awareness of sports-related health problems are among the objectives of the course.
Course Content Physical development in children and adolescents, physiological basics, training methods according to age groups, injury and prevention methods, rest, performance measurement, safe training programmes constitute the general content of this course.
Learning Outcomes - Students will be able to define the biological, physiological and psychological development processes of children and adolescents and understand the physical differences in these periods.
- Students will gain the ability to prepare safe and effective training programmes suitable for children's age, gender and developmental levels.
- Students will be able to analyse the effects of physical activity on children's motor skill development, physical fitness, health and social skills
- Students will be able to design training programmes that support the development of physical characteristics such as endurance, strength, speed and flexibility in children.
- Students will be able to measure physical development and training effectiveness by using performance evaluation methods in child athletes.
