Goals | "Physical Education and Play Teaching and Strategies in Preschool Teaching" course aims to teach the importance of physical education and play activities in preschool period and effective teaching strategies used in this period. This course aims to provide prospective teachers with the knowledge and skills to plan, implement and evaluate physical education and play activities that support children's physical, emotional, social and cognitive development. In addition, strategies for improving physical fitness, motor skill development and healthy life awareness through movement education in children are emphasised. |
Course Content | Physical education and play, physical development in preschool period, play and learning in preschool period, use of materials and tools, development supportive games and movement education constitute the general content of this course. |
Learning Outcomes |
- Students will be able to comprehend the importance of physical education and play in preschool period and define the contributions of these activities to the physical, social and emotional development of children. - Students will be able to define activities that develop basic movement skills (running, jumping, balance, etc.) in preschool period and develop activities that support these skills - Students will be able to select the tools and materials to be used in the activities in accordance with the age group and the purpose of the activity and ensure the safety of the materials. - Students will be able to develop group games and activities that support children's social skills such as co-operation, sharing, self-confidence and leadership. - Students will be able to use evaluation techniques appropriate to the developmental levels of children by observing the effects of activities on children. |
