Goals The "Proficiency" course, which is offered at master's and doctoral level, aims to deepen students' basic knowledge and skills in the academic field and to develop their competencies in research, analysis and academic communication. This course aims to enable students to comprehend the basic issues related to their field, to evaluate current literature from a critical perspective and to gain independent research skills. In addition, it is aimed to reinforce students' knowledge of scientific ethics and research methodology that will enable them to produce original knowledge in their fields.
Course Content Scientific research, research problem, literature review, methodology, data analysis, article writing and publication process constitute the general content of this course.
Learning Outcomes - Students will have the knowledge to conduct independent research by understanding the basic principles, stages and requirements of the research process.
- Students will be able to define the research problem, critically analyse the current literature in their field and identify research gaps.
- Students will be able to use different data collection techniques (questionnaire, interview, observation, etc.) in research processes and evaluate the data with qualitative or quantitative analysis methods.
- Students will learn the process of writing scientific articles, article structure and academic writing rules and will reach the competence to publish in national and international journals.
- Students will be able to present their work orally and in writing internationally by using academic English grammar and scientific terminology effectively.
